The idea of \u200b\u200bthe short film is not original enough to think of Kurosawa's Rashomon and other more recent narrative devices. About
significance between before and after, unless you know perfectly the two foreign languages, there seems to prevail rather than the intuition that understanding the story, certainly underlined the fatigue from the documents in the hands of the black soldier.
Rather what the story are missed are just some basic elements of communication (in the second version of the story), for example, because the offender has a uniform instead of being a soldier otherwise dress (unless you have to imagine that it is in disguise), why apologize to his father after he made his career (that of which nothing is imagined?), why do you care about American soldiers to haul down the flag instead of disarming the garrison (preferring instead un'accendino), because the verbiage of the offender causing the refusal of the troops to shoot a particular person so (after the sequence of the office that does not leave little doubt about sympathy for it), ....
These flaws seem a bit 'too much because for a short film, unless the concerns raised were not the true intention of the director! Rated X
